PDCOS (Petrol Driven Cut Off Saws)

Course Outline

The CITB has introduced a course that covers the use of petrol driven cut off saws including the fitting of the cutting wheel, this course is gaining in demand on site due to the increase in use of this type of equipment without the proper training

Course Content

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Hot start
  • Machine checks
  • Cutting brick/stone/concrete on the ground
  • Fuel cap
  • Cutting vertical cuts (optional)
  • Reactive forces
  • Cutting horizontal cuts (optional)
  • Adjusting wheel guard
  • Cutting metal
  • Work site assessment
  • Carrying the machine on site
  • Fuelling
  • Transporting the machine in a vehicle
  • Cold start.

Duration and Certification

1/2 Day – CITB Certificate of TrainingĀ – valid for three years.

Abrasive Wheel Awareness

Course Outline

The Abrasive Wheels training course is intended for persons involved in the use, inspection or mounting of abrasive wheels and is designed to provide training as required under The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER 98).

Abrasive Wheels Safety Training can be carried out at our training centre, or on-site nationwide at a location to suit you. Whichever option you choose, you can be sure that your operatives will be trained to a high standard in the mounting, safe use and maintenance of abrasive wheels.
