Course overview
• Operation of a 360 excavator – to carry out basic excavation, loading and grading type work
• Fit and use a range of bucket types
• Site the machine safely and efficiently for excavating, grading, and loading duties
• Carry out checks and minor adjustments and prepare the machine for work
• Travel the machine within site conditions
• Understand the capabilities, purposes, and limitations of using the 360 excavator for excavating, loading, and grading duties
• Comply with all safety requirements
• Interpret given information to carry out excavating, loading, and grading duties to given tolerances.
Pre- requested
You must have a CITB Health Safety & Environment or NOCN Health, Safety & Environment Test within the last 2 years of course test day.
We can book this at our centre with at least 48 hours notice, subject to availability. Our cost is £50inc VAT.
Card upon achievement
Red Trained Operator Card confirms a level of core skills, knowledge, and understanding that can be applied in the workplace until measured as competent against national standards.
This card is valid for 2 years, during this time you are expected to complete an NVQ in Plant Operations to progress to a Blue CPCS Competence Card.
If you have not completed your NVQ within the 2-year period please contact to discuss you options.
For those with some experience operating excavators a shorter course may be available. Please contact our team with a description of your previous involvement and we will discuss a course more suited to your needs.
For those with years of experience and require no training a half day test only is available, please contact or see our Experienced Worker Test availability.
We can tailor our courses to suit everybody’s needs. Whether you have been driving plant already or need correcting on any bad habits, we offer courses for semi novices. Option for experienced worker tests for those not needing any training element.
